Learn Who We Are

  • Dr. Dan DeWeert

Dan was raised in Kelso, WA. He graduated from Kelso High School in 1966 then served as a Veterinary Technician in the U.S. Air Force.
Dan graduated from The Washington State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He worked as an associate veterinarian in Brewster, before starting Valley Veterinary Clinic in Twisp later that same year. His areas of special interest are equine medicine and small animal orthopedics.

Dan, after practicing veterinary medicine for 38 years decided to retire in the fall of 2015. He is enjoying his additional time with family and his friends, He still comes to the clinic on a regular basis to give helping advise and visit with clients.

  • Dr. Terri DeWeert

Terri was raised in Santa Rosa, California. She attended The University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 1988. While in veterinary school she completed two fellowships: one at M.I.T. and one at The Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation Terri did a residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, studying Comparative Medicine.

  • Lacey Jones - Veterinary Assistant

Lacey was born and raised in Twisp, Washington. When she was young she developed an interest in horses and eventually worked for several outfitters during JR. high and high school. In 2009 she relocated to the Omak-Okanogan area and began working for the Animal Hospital of Omak as a veterinary assistant.  In 2010, she traveled to Virginia and studied at Equissage to become a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist.

  • Sarah Henry - Receptionist

Sarah Henry was raised in both Royal City, and Mazama. Sarah and her family traveled back and forth seasonally due to the family’s cattle operation. Sarah grew up on horses and still continues to enjoy this part of her life. She graduated from Liberty Bell High School in 2006. Sarah spent several summers working for Early Winters Outfitters as a wrangler and helped teach people how to horseback ride.

  • Barn Cat "Ruler of the Clinic"

Barn Cat joined us as a kitten in 2001 after being left by someone to fend for himself in our clinic barn.

No matter how the staff tried to coerce him to be friendly and come into the clinic, he just wouldn't participate.

The staff had no alternative, but to simply feed and water him in the barn, which was where he deemed it appropriate to stay until the first cold winter day. The warm glow of the clinic must have been too much for him to handle because he decided to rush through the clinic door and has proceeded to rule the clinic ever since!

  • Teak "Official Greeter"

Teak has been with Valley Veterinary Clinic since 2003.
She spends most of her day curled up at the front desk, or basking in the sun in the reception area.

In her spare time she thinks up new ways to look cute for yet another low fat cookie.
